Resale right for visual artists: the practicalities

The new government has promised to introduce a resale right for visual artists: artists will receive a percentage of the sale price each time their work is resold. How will it work in practice? Joanna Cave, CEO of Design and Artists Copyright Society, the UK copyright collecting society for visual artists, will explain how the right is operating in the UK. Virginia Morrison, legal adviser to Viscopy, the Australian copyright collecting society for visual artists, will discuss the practicalities in the Australian context.
